HARTFORD, CT (April 7, 2014) – The Connecticut Convention Center donated $2,000.00 to the Hartford Guides – a nonprofit community service and on-street security organization that services the Hartford community. The Guides provide networked security, roadside assistance, mobile patrols, and foot patrols to help meet the security needs of civic, municipal and nonprofit organizations. In addition, the group serves as ambassadors for the City of Hartford and play an important role in ensuring that guests receive the highest level of customer service.
The donation was made on behalf of voluntary contributions from more than 200 associates at the Convention Center as part of the Waterford Group Charitable Foundation, a private foundation that seeks to support the communities in which associates of Waterford Group and its affiliates live and work. This includes Waterford Venue Services, which manages the Connecticut Convention Center.
“The Guides are a great asset to the City,” stated Michael Costelli, General Manager for the Connecticut Convention Center. “Their dedication to our guests and to help keep Hartford safe makes the organization an appropriate recipient for our donation.”
