HARTFORD, CT – On Tuesday April 14, 2009 members of the Laborers’ Union Local 230, along with associates of the Connecticut Convention Center were provided with fork lift training from instructors of the New England Laborers’ Training Academy (NELTA, Pomfret Center, CT) at the Connecticut Convention Center (CTCC). One of the LIUNA’s mobile training facilities was on site to serve as a visual representation of how this training takes place around the state. Approximately 30 associates took part in the fork lift training which was provided to strengthen their existing job skills.
The Laborers’ Union Local 230, (a division of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, LIUNA) has built a strong and cooperative working relationship with the CTCC since partnering back in April 2008. The CTCC and the Laborers’ Union Local 230 are committed to making sure that their associates and members are trained in providing CTCC clients with the high standards of service that they have enjoyed since the Center opened in 2005.
